tunesday – our favourite things with body type
Body Type helps us tally up their favourite things.
Ahead of releasing their brand-spanking-new album Tally – Body Type’s third, coming this July 24th – we caught up with the quartet to find out about all their favourite things (one of them being puppies to pat on their pre-show rider!).
Favourite memory from making Tally? Watching everyone record the vocals for the end of “Tally”… screaming, crying, throwing up good.
Favourite place to perform? For local vibes it’s gotta be Franks Wild Years in Thirroul. A life highlight was supporting The Pixies and performing at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt. Absolute dream come true, take me back.
Favourite city that you’ll be visiting on your UK and European tour with Courtney Barnett? J’adore Paris and cannot waaaaiiiit to be back amongst the magique!
Favourite way to wind down after a show? A pint of Guinness and a game of pool.
Favourite thing on your rider? Since we started touring we’ve had “one small dog for pats and band morale”, which venues/promoters have sorted out for us a few times (forever grateful)! If not puppies, probably hommus.
Favourite track on Tally? Very hard to choose and depends on the mood, but at the moment it’s a li’l ditty called “Do You Want To Cry Your Eyes Out?”.
Favourite place to write music? Our friend has an amazing studio in Stanwell Park on the Illawarra coast called The Shed. It’s surrounded by nature – lots of trees and a li’l creek. His family looks after horses too, so when we take a break from writing we can go and interact with these beautiful creatures. It’s very grounding after a few hours in the zone.
Favourite artist or band you were listening to when making Tally? Korn’s “Freak On A Leash” and the Severance theme song (know your truth).
