the bottle cap house

Creativity flourishes in the most unexpected places. Like in Kamarchaga, an isolated village in rural Russia, where you’ll find a mosaic-covered house belonging to pensioner Olga Kostina. Make your way to Olga’s front door and you’ll be in for an even bigger surprise: the colourful patterns covering the home are made from plastic bottle caps – 30,000 of them, in fact. For years, Olga collected every single lid until she had enough to create huge murals inspired by traditional macramé and woodland creatures. Hats off to you, Olga.
