Long-time frankie readers will recognise the awesomeness of The Social Studio from a story we ran a few years back: after three years of doing good and making lovely things, they'd like to ask you for a little help.

Long-time frankie readers will recognise the awesomeness of The Social Studio from a story we ran a few years back. It's a Melbourne non-profit social enterprise that runs a shop, café, fashion school, hospitality training course and also social support for young people from refugee communities.

Their fashion label is particularly spesh, featuring reclaimed and upcycled fabrics stitched into cool threads using hand-dyeing and finishing techniques. Anyway – after three years of doing good and making lovely things The Social Studio needs a little help. Their shopfront is getting a bit shabby and they need funds for a basic upgrade, including a new retail system, painting the walls, sealing the floors, repairing broken furniture and installing new lights. Want to help? They have a crowdsourcing drive over here, where they're hoping to raise $16,500 in the next 16 days. If you stump up some cash you not only get a nice tingly feeling of contentment, but you might nab prizes like handmade brooches and scarves, coffees, African donuts, and custom frocks.
