the outback’s pinkest (and quirkiest) hotel

Come for the pink. Stay for the Pink Panther.

This hotel in the smack-bang middle of the outback has some stories to tell. Covered in fairy-floss pink and a rusting tin roof, the deeper into the bowels you (dare) travel in this quirky inn, the weirder it gets. A giant beer bottle statue out the front? Interesting. A humungous “Pink Panther” sitting beside it, beer bottle of its own in hand? Unusual. A true-crime docuseries and podcast detailing the case of a missing man? Yep, that’s weird alright. While the Northern Territory’s Larrimah Hotel – aka the Pink Panther Hotel – has enough secrets buried in its gallows to make you think twice about visiting, there’s no denying that it’s hell of a quirky place to look at… from afar.

Thinking of travelling to the little-known places of Australia? Check out this beautiful nature spot in the Northern Territory or have a squiz at our favourite big things from PLACES.
