Whether we're whipping up a gooey apple pie, some scrummy sausage rolls or a batch of whatever-fruit-is-left-in-the-fridge danishes, whenever we use puff pastry we accumulate a pile of left-over strips that either get gobbled down with gluttonous abandon or, sadly, thrown in the bin. This recipe for jam straws is a delectable – not to mention less wasteful – way to see out scraps of pastry, and it might even be good enough to warrant a fresh packet of its own.
