easy diy paper bow

By the frankie team

An easy way to jazz up your presents if you've forgotten to buy ribbon (we've all been there!).

With the gifting season around the corner, we thought we'd share a DIY that'll zhuzh up your pressies in no time. They're easy-peasy and you can use the wrapping paper included in our new issue or our gifty wrap book, if you like!

MATERIALS:
Makes one ribbon

Paper
Scissors
Tape
'Fish' pattern template (which you can download here)

METHOD:

1. Fold your paper in half.

2. Place the template over the folded paper, aligning the straight edge of the template with the fold. Alternatively you can draw the template on the paper.

3. Cut out the fish shape and open it up.

4. Cut two slits half way up, on either ends. You want one going up toward the centre and the other going down toward the centre. Make sure to not cut all the way across!

5. Loop the paper around and lock the two slits together.

6. Press down to reveal the bow shape!

7. Using some leftover paper, cut a small strip and loop around the centre.

8. Stick it onto a present or a gift bag and enjoy! You can get creative with sizes and patterns, too.
