We’re used to seeing decorative tiling used in big features, murals and the like. Ukrainian artist Zhanna Kadyrova takes the opposite approach, fashioning tiled works that almost blend in with their surroundings. Since 2014, she’s arranged eye-pleasing bits of ceramic all over the world for her project “Second Hand”. More often than not, Zhanna sources the tiles from old workshops, warehouses and factories, sticking them up in temporary exhibits to draw attention to the location’s history before the building disappears all together.
