win a writer's residency in an off-grid cabin
Unyoked are offering four new writers a six-month stay in one of their nature retreats.
When it comes to pushing past writer’s block, nothing beats a good walk around the block. Imagine, then, what working in the middle of the wilderness could do for your creativity. If you’re a new writer itching for some time and space to create your next masterpiece, you might like to throw your hat into the ring for one of Unyoked’s Writer’s Residencies.
The company, which rents out off-grid cabins across Australia, is inviting writerly types to submit nature writing, poems and short essays to their upcoming anthology. In return, you might just win a six-month stay in one of their retreats (think tiny house in the middle of a forest, equipped with all the comfy amenities to make you feel at home).
Successful applicants will have their work featured in Unyoked’s print anthology and be paid for their words. The judging panel includes Alyx Gorman, lifestyle editor of The Guardian Australia; Jazz Money, Wiradjuri poet and artist; Georgia Frances King, literary agent and former editor of Kinfolk; and Zac Bayly, an editor, feature writer and consultant.
