want to see your art on a t-shirt? apply for this artist-in-residence program

Attention, arty types – applications for High Tees’ Artist-in-Residence program open today.

If you’re an emerging artist in Australia and New Zealand who’s struggling to break into the industry, then listen up. Melbourne label High Tees, which sells printed 100 per cent cotton tees and homewares, has launched an Artist-in-Residence program that aims to support budding artists.

The Artist-in-Residence program is open to four artists, starting in July 2022 and running until January 2023. Aside from having your work printed on a range of goodies, successful applicants will receive one-on-one coaching and mentoring with High Tees founder Jess McDonald on collection creation, branding and selling artwork. You’ll also receive a professional photoshoot of products, a dedicated webpage on the High Tees website, access to High Tees’ wholesale customers, a 20 per cent commission on items featuring your designs, and heaps more.

The inaugural program collection is ‘CLIMATE ACTION’. It’s free to apply – you just need to submit three examples of your art by heading here. The program costs $500 for successful applicants (though there are sponsorship opportunities available). Pop over to High Tees’ website for more info on this ace initiative.
