vintage ikea catalogues

They certainly don’t make lounge rooms like this anymore.

It’s funny what hindsight can do. Once upon a time, we’d spend hours dog-earring the pages of glossy IKEA catalogues, wishing we could own it all. It’s a good thing we never did, though – because looking back, those ‘80s and ‘90s setups weren’t exactly crash hot. (Can someone explain why Barney-the-dinosaur purple was so popular?).  While we’d rather forget about some of these décor trends, Instagram account Neon Talk insists we confront our poor style choices. Interestingly enough some items have come full circle and are trending again today. It makes us wonder: what will our current décor trends look like in another decade? Here’s hoping monsteras and mid-century consoles stay classy.
