vamff 2015 frankie runway wrap-up

Things got a little bit glitzy and a whole lot rock 'n' roll on Monday night as we popped on our fancy pants for a trip into Fashion Land. The frankie runway show at the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival was like a quick jaunt back in time, with models treading the runway in '70s-style turtlenecks; strong, boxy tops; and ankle-skimming culottes. The snazzily dressed art curator look was strong, with plenty of autumnal tones, crisp button-ups and sensible coats to keep us rugged up in the chillier months. But at times it was the accessories that stole the show, with wide-brimmed hats, pom-pom scarves and rainbow sunnies adding a little pizzazz to an otherwise fairly muted palette.
Have a gander at our runway pics to the left, which feature Kloke's Little House on the Prairie prettiness, Gorman x Miranda Skoczek's kaleidoscopic patterns, Limedrop's pastel loveliness, shady layers from Alpha60, Kuwaii's woolly wonders, and bul's refined shapes.
We'd like to say a whopping big thanks to all who were involved, including The Pink Tiles for opening the night with a bang, Stef Ingram for her top-notch styling and Reveal Productions for kitting us out with a room's worth of glittery gold goodness. Runway snaps from Lucas Dawson.
