tunesday – caroline polachek

Time to do a happy jig, frankie friends. Caroline Polachek – songstress of the now disbanded group Chairlift and holder of a voice so clear it could shatter glass – has gifted us with a bona fide earworm. “Bunny Is A Rider” is the first new music we’ve heard from her since 2019’s Pang, and is further confirmation that Caroline was destined to go solo. Let’s face it: you simply can’t ignore a woman whose upper register sounds like a synthesiser, let alone one who covered The Corrs’s “Breathless” (that takes balls). Caroline describes “Bunny Is A Rider” as a “summer jam about being unavailable” and someone who is “impossible to get a hold of.” It’s basically a dedication to badasses the world over, and you can treat your ears to the tune below.
