Every town has one musical troupe that everyone seems to know a member of. In Melbourne, Dirt Farmer is that band.

Every town has one musical troupe that everyone seems to know a member of. Conversations at local pubs in Melbourne always seem to roll something like this:

Person 1: "Have you heard of that folky band called Dirt Farmer?"

Person 2: "The one with all the finger-picked guitar parts and rolling, lazy morning feel?"

Person 1: "Yeah yeah, I know know the lead guitar player."

Person 2: "Oh really? The singer is a mate of mine."

Person 1: "No way! They're playing some gigs later in the year, maybe we should go?"

Person 3: "Hey guys, are you talking about Dirt Farmer?"

Person 1&2: "Yeah?"

Person 3: "Totally strange - I know the drummer. We were at school together in Albury Wodonga."

Person 1, 2 & 3: "Weird."

And now you know too. For gig dates or to have a listen, head over to their website or Facebook page.
