We always suspected different pastas behaved in whole different ways – now we have quasi-scientific proof in the shape of Geometry of Pasta, a cooking project dedicated to cataloguing the best uses for different pasta designs.

Spaghetti, fettucine, those funny little bow tie shapes that never quite manage to cook all the way through in the middle... On their site you'll find pretty graphics explaining each pasta type and a handful of recipes to try out.

They've also just put out a cookbook you can order online, should you wish to get more geometric in the kitchen. And really, who doesn't?
