It is time to take our hats off to Belgian artist Sammy Slabbinck and his rather glorious visions of mashed-up vintage imagery. Slicing up retro photos and combining them with modern humour and irony, Sammy's pieces are sometimes cheery and sometimes a wee bit confronting, but always something we'd love to hang on our walls. Because who doesn't love the idea of weightlifters hefting large feathers above their heads, tiny birds playing guitar, or dancing on the top of a giant TV set? Nobody, that's who.
