the canine currency of your dreams
Send your thanks to Japanese manga artist Ponkichi.
Forget crypto, there’s a new currency in town – and it’s covered in Shiba Inu puppers. OK, so it isn’t an official currency (please don’t rush out to start investing), but rather an art project by manga artist Ponkichi, who was inspired to revamp the Japanese bank note with the country’s most recognisable dog breed.
We’re thoroughly impressed by the detail in Ponkichi’s notes, from the paw print of approval to the far-off gaze of one dignified-looking Shiba. Until the Bank of Japan legitimises this adorable dream currency, you can find it splashed on various pieces of merch over here.
