sweet critter furoshiki

By Sophie Kalagas

This nifty Japanese invention sure beats some scrunched-up tissue paper.

The concept of furoshiki has been floating our boats for a rather long time now, in all types of incarnations – packaging, decoration and even carry bags. Some clever Japanese folk have taken the fabric gift wrapping device one step further, though, transforming them into a zoo of dangling critters once your pressie’s fully wrapped.

Sloths, bats and long-limbed monkeys will present your pal with their thoughtful gift, all thanks to design duo Yosuke Jikuhara and Miki Takeda. Definitely beats some scrunched-up tissue paper, that’s for sure.
