We all have a love-hate relationship with IKEA. Hate shopping there. Love decent design at reasonable prices. Feel slightly sheepish about how many Expedit bookcases we've owned in our lifetime. But the big blue and yellow box needn't spell the end of creative DIY, as evidenced by this lovely Svalbo hack from Emily over at The Sweet Beast. With a bit of priming, painting and playing with powertools, she shows how a bog-standard side table can turn into something rather awesome. Nice work, lady!
