sula fay's hair embroidery

Instead of letting her fallen hairs get up to their usual mischief of clogging up the vacuum cleaner, London artist Sula Fay found a way to put them to good use.

Instead of letting her fallen hairs get up to their usual mischief of clogging up the vacuum cleaner, London artist Sula Fay found a way to put them to good use: as a stitching stand-in. When one of her curly locks drops, she gathers it up, flattens out the kinks, then substitutes it for thread in some natty needlework. Think vintage doilies spruced up with stubbly ankles, curvy bodies, and some very delicate letterwork, all embroidered with the flimsy strands.
