Childhood trauma mixed with granny crafts. It's not a pairing you hear every day, but our interest sure was piqued when those words rolled into our inbox.

The clever concept comes from Melbourne lady Yasemin Sumner – aka Stitch You Up – who has managed to meld a love of horror movies and cult flicks with some nimble-fingered needlework. Characters from Cry Baby, Twin Peaks and Jem and the Holograms get a look in in her kinda creepy embroidery portrait series, and you can check out the whole bunch at her first ever exhibition, at the Old Bar Upstairs on Tuesday May 6th. Head here for more info, but be warned: childhood Pennywise trauma may be resurrected.
