Just when you’d thought you’d seen the raddest bus stops on Earth, Siberia goes and blows the competition out of the water.
We’ve seen our fair share of quirky-looking bus stops in our time (fruit-shaped bus stops of Japan and England’s lounge room bus stop leap instantly to mind), but these shelters in Siberia (and elsewhere across the former Soviet empire) sure are impressive. Christopher Herwig, the shutterbug behind the 12-year-long project, says that the process of finding the artistically inspired bus stops is a bit like a scavenger hunt, and that the bus stops themselves shine a new light on the history of the Soviet Union.
