sourdough cinnamon chocolate twist bread

This bread may require a bit of preparation, but by golly, it’s worth it for every last chocolate-encrusted crumb.

This is real bread – the kind that requires overnight preparation, leaving the ball of dough to rest, and so on and so forth. But by gum, it’s worth all that effort. Not only is the end result rather pretty, what with its plaited design (it’s basically an edible wreath), it’s also laced with cinnamon and chocolate throughout, two flavours that dance little jigs in our mouths (or so it seems). The recipe comes from a Natasa, a Slovenian lass whose aversion to traditional yeast inspired her to investigate the art of sourdough baking. You’ll find this scrummy treat, along with many more, over on her blog, My Daily Sourdough Bread.
