Remember Renew Newcastle, the project that breathed fresh life into Newcastle's beautiful but underused architecture? Murwillumbah is the creative hub of the Tweed Valley region, and the local Hey Maker team are asking you for a little bit of help.
Remember Renew Newcastle, the project that breathed fresh life into Newcastle's beautiful but underused architecture? Murwillumbah has recently been filling up with creative types from all around Australia and has become New South Wales's equivalent to Victoria's Daylesford. They're the creative hub of the Tweed Valley region, but they need a little bit of help.
In order to transform their tiny town from a rural craft community into an artistic mecca where people will travel to, local creative clan Hey Maker are raising money on crowd-sourcing website Pozible. All of the dosh received will go towards renting out shopfronts for galleries and stores for their citizens to show off their talents. You can check out Hey Maker's blog to get an idea of what they're about. Then have a squiz if you like at their video and donate here: you may help support one of Australia's newest artistic communities.
