A savoury twist on the traditional Jewish dessert.

The petals on this decadent babka flower bread may look complicated, but they’re actually pretty easy to create. As Lorraine Elliott from Not Quite Nigella explains, the process involves a simple cut and twist of the buttery dough.

While babka is usually made with sweet fillings like chocolate and fruit, Lorraine’s savoury version is layered with pesto and cheese – and hoo boy does it look tasty.
