Countless treasures await.

Major art news, frankie friends – the Louvre has opened up its collection to anyone with an internet connection. With COVID putting a dampener on the Paris museum’s nine million yearly visitors, the Louvre team has been busy upgrading its website and online database to house around 482,000 works (a big jump from the 30,000 public listings it used to have). That means masterpieces including the Venus de Milo and Mona Lisa are now free to view alongside countless other treasures in the museum's mammoth catalogue. If you're feeling overwhelmed, head to the themed albums first – they span portraiture, major historical events, royal power and more. Plus, it's not just paintings that are searchable – you can sink a good few hours browsing the vast array of textiles, furniture, jewellery and sculpture, and you don't even have to fight through the usual crowds to do so. Phew! Have a looksee at the full catalogue over here.
