memoirs of lost time

Nostalgia is a funny thing. It makes us get all mooshy and sentimental about things that happened yonks ago, like popping on a pair of shiny rose-tinted spectacles. In the case of this photo series, Memoirs of Lost Time, it's more of a sepia-like filter that's been applied to the childhood memories of a group of artsy folk, with a good dose of imagination sprucing them up just a bit.

Writer and fashion designer Trisha Sakhlecha and photographer Vikram Kushwah have captured these surreal scenes rather wonderfully, with artists rowing a bathtub boat through a trunk-filled forest, floating in the air with a trio of parasols, and casting unlikely reflections in lovely arched mirrors.

It's all about celebrating the magic of childhood creativity – as Kushwah says, "Wonder, like curiosity, can make seemingly impossible things happen; it's time for wishful thinking to have its due."
