levitating planters

By Staff Writer

Don’t rub your eyes, you’re not seeing things: this pretty planter does indeed defy gravity.

Swedish scientist Simon Morris is fascinated by plants. So are we – in particular, in our ability to murder them, no matter how hard we commit to becoming better gardeners. Thankfully, the good man has put his mind to designing a rather pretty planter that requires almost no human attention.

The levitating planter – or LYFE, as he calls it – is a “zero-gravity growing system”, which suspends in mid-air while gently rotating. With the planter constantly on the spin, it’s guaranteed to get 360 degrees of sunlight exposure, 365 days a year. (It’s all thanks to super-strong magnetic forces, not actual magic as it may appear.) Head over to Simon’s website to check out his full range of levitating inventions.
