If you've got a little tacker in your life with a penchant for popping on an apron or chef's hat and baking up a batch of imaginary cookies, we've just found the perfect pressie for their next big birthday. (You're welcome.) It may require a bit of sawing and painting on your part, but with some careful secondhand shopping and these instructions from A Beautiful Mess, it shouldn't be too hard to put together a sweet DIY kitchenette. Though you can't whip up real-deal edible baked goods like the Easy-Bake Ovens of yore, with a bright slick of paint and some special touches (we're coveting those pot-hanging hooks for our own grown-up kitchens) you'll wind up with a pretty nifty retro-look stovetop - not to mention a bunch of mini masterchefs.
