Celebrating the kitsch and retro typography of cheap residences with breezily upbeat names.

Moaning about real estate is a sad fact of adult life. People who own a house bitch about their mortgages, people who rent bitch about their landlords and people in sharehouses bitch about their flatmates (and the dishes and noisy sex and that mysterious mould growing at the back of the fridge). Rather than get all negative and gloomy, Minneapolis graphic designer Kelly Abeln has decided to explore the upside of our constant search for shelter, with her illustration series Apartment Signs. Celebrating the kitsch and retro typography of cheap residences with breezily upbeat names, we like her work her much.
