japanese pork cutlet and egg recipe

Winter is the perfect time to tuck into a hearty katsudon.

You know how humans evolved to favour sweet flavours? Well, surely there is a biological explanation for our affinity with all things crispy and deep-fried, too. (If this is your field of research, please get in touch.) Why else would we constantly be craving something satisfyingly crunchy to bite into? If you find yourself in same boat (hankering for a fried snack but too ashamed to slam down another packet of chips) we reckon it’s worth trying out a katsudon, a simple and hearty Japanese dish composed of crispy pork atop a slightly sweet layer of egg and steaming pile of rice. It's simple enough to whip up and yummy-as, too. Head to The Woks of Life for the full recipe.
