frankie 75 is on sale in Australia today, and if you’re thinking of popping to the shops to pick up a copy, you should probably bring a trolley or crane or at least some very limber muscles, because this issue is BIG. It’s also rather heavy, because it’s chock full of lovely extras, like a DIY mobile designed by local lady Min Pin, a booklet of nostalgic tuckshop recipes (mmm, finger buns), and our whopping annual wall planner. Ooh, boy!

Tucked in between these goodies you’ll find grandmas doing graffiti on the streets of Portugal, a musing on the all-you-can-eat restaurants of yore, and a lady using hairdressing as a tool for social change. There’s also a guide to brush lettering (with a handy-dandy practice poster included); a chit-chat with Kathleen Hanna, frontwoman for The Julie Ruin; and a rundown of some of history’s craziest cat people.

Here’s something exciting: we’ll also introduce you to the nine wonderful judges for our first-ever frankie Good Stuff awards! (The iconic Jenny Kee is one of them, just so you know.) Plus, we talk to some local folk who weren’t afraid to break society’s rules, and gather some snazzy footwear so you can look spiffy while you’re busy walking your own path. Issue 75 is a one-time price of $13.95, but we promise it'll be worth it. Enjoy!
