iris scott's oil finger painting

Artist Iris Scott paints exclusively with her fingers, and our minds are a wee bit blown by the level of detail in her pieces.

The last time we tried finger painting we were sporting art smocks, pigtails and primary-coloured smears all over our limbs, and portraits of our families and friends weren't much more than a few wobbly lines. While our parents insisted they were works of art worthy of a prime position on the fridge, they clearly hadn't seen what our humble digits are capable of.

Since running out of clean brushes one day, artist Iris Scott has painted exclusively with her fingers, and our minds are a wee bit blown by the level of detail in her pieces. She might be using a technique that's usually reserved for kiddies, but her oil paintings turn out more like textured impressionist masterpieces.

For plenty more of Iris' work, have a gander over at her website. You can also pick up a print of your own on etsy – just make sure you clear a nice big space to proudly display it on your fridge door.
