in honour of anzac nurses

As a tip of the hat to ANZAC Day, we spent some time browsing through the Australian War Memorial's website and stumbled upon this pretty special gallery. From an exhibition named Nurses: from Zululand to Afghanistan, the archived collection features stories and old photos of military medical workers from 1879 right through to more recent conflicts. Of course, there are an awful lot of fascinating wartime tales to tell, but these snaps give a bit of insight into the inspiring stuff that was happening away from the frontlines (including the occasional break for a cup of tea and a chinwag).
