hollie chastain's collage art

Hollie Chastain is an artist living in Chattanooga, Tennessee, who takes old book covers and turns them into beautiful collages.

Every now and then while op-shopping, you'll come across beautiful books. Their spines will be felt-covered and whithered, brandy spots will adorn their titles and their edges will be gloriously dog-eared beyond reading ability. Plus, they're always about naval ships or the biology of chipmunks - not exactly bedtime reading material. But then again, it's only two bucks and deserves a good home gathering dust on your bookshelf, right?

Hollie Chastain takes these old book covers and turns them into beautiful collages. She currently lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she makes all of these darling creations. Hollie has only been exhibiting for the past two years too - if this is where her art has taken her so early in her career, we can't wait to see what goodness she snips up next.
