hanoi street vendors from above

By Staff Writer

In Hanoi, street vendors carry artful arrangements of fruit, flowers and snacks on their bikes – without even knowing it.

Vendors pedalling their wares on the streets of Hanoi create little pieces of art without even knowing it, says shutterbug Loes Heerink. The Dutch lady spent years in the Vietnamese capital, and hours standing on bridges to capture these artful arrangements of flowers, fruit and snacks from above. So transfixed was Loes that she would spend up to five hours at a single location and sometimes go home without a useable snap at all. Luckily, she managed to get more than a few winners – a book’s worth, in fact. If you fancy supporting her campaign to get the tome to print, head here. Otherwise settle in for an almighty gazing session; our gallery of her work is just below.
