guild of objects

There’s a bit of a pottery boom happening in Melbourne right now, with a bunch of makers getting sculpty and hitting the wheel to whip up some ceramic loveliness for our homes.

There’s a bit of a pottery boom happening in Melbourne right now, with a bunch of makers getting sculpty and hitting the wheel to whip up some ceramic loveliness for our homes.

Brooke Thorn, Chela Edmunds and Tao Oudomvilay – three small batch local potters – wanted to celebrate this hands-on creative community, so they banded together to start up Guild of Objects: an online and real-life store, exhibition and workshop space for ceramics, jewellery, textiles and more.

Based in North Melbourne, the hub for the handmade opens its doors tonight, and will keep them ajar every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from now on. Pop by their website to have a squiz at some of the goodies available in-store, and to check out their upcoming clay classes (at a rather affordable price!).
