get fancy: easy-peasy up-do
Top knots are great when it comes to disguising not-so-fresh locks or keeping windswept strands out of the eyes, but sometimes we get sick to death of tying our hair in the same old ponytail.
Top knots are great when it comes to disguising not-so-fresh locks or keeping windswept strands out of the eyes, but sometimes we get sick to death of tying our hair in the same old ponytail. Well, look here! We have put together an easy hair-up how-to that you can do yourself with a few simple tools. It's perfect for your everyday go-to style, emergency special occasion do or simply something new to try.
MATERIALS:
hairbrush
comb
hair tie
bobby pins
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Brush hair up into a high pony tail on top of your head.
2. Gently pinch and pull the hair across the top and front of the head to make it slightly loose.
3. Divide ponytail into two sections and plait each section.
4. Take your comb and tease or "back comb" each plait to make it scrunch up and look a bit messy.
5. Take the end of each plait and find the longest strands of hair. Take a few strands between your fingers with one hand and "push" the rest of the hair back to scrunch up further.
6. Slide a bobby pin over the end of each plait to "clamp" and hold in place.
7. Twist plait into a bun and pin on top of head. Repeat with other plait. Essentially you will have two plaited buns, side by side. Once they are pinned up they should look like one big, fabulous bun.
