garage sale trail is back
For three weekends.
Australia’s annual festival of pre-loved stuff, Garage Sale Trail, is back. Woohoo! For the first time ever, the festival will see thrifty bargain hunters and friendly sellers take part in garage sales over three weekends.
It all kicks off on November 6, with two days of free online masterclasses (aka Trail Tutorials). A team of experts from the worlds of fashion, styling, finance and sustainability will discuss everything from dressing sustainably to making reselling a side hustle. The following two weekends (November 13 – 14 and 20 – 21) will be dedicated to garage sales galore, both online and in the community.
To help spread the word about sustainable fashion and the circular economy, Garage Sale Trail has partnered with musician (and national treasure) Ella Hooper.
“I’m a life-long thrifter and I truly love shopping second-hand, especially for clothes. It allows me to have fun and get experimental with my style but, importantly, it also dramatically reduces textile waste and keeps a whole lot of quality stuff out of landfill,” Ella says.
“That’s why I’m stoked to buddy up with Garage Sale Trail this year and help share the message of reuse far and wide! Hopefully everyone can fall in love with second-hand and reap the benefits – just like I have. Do the planet and your hip-pocket a favour!”
If all this sounds up your alley, then head to the event’s website, where you can book a Trail Tutorial or register your garage sale.
