Sometimes you find something on the internet that's so exquisitely awesome you want to dive into your laptop and swim around in the gloriousness until you can't take it any more. National Geographic's FOUND tumblr is a bit like that.

Sometimes you find something on the internet that's so exquisitely awesome you want to dive into your laptop and swim around in the gloriousness until you can't take it any more. National Geographic's FOUND tumblr is a bit like that. Built as part of the iconic mag's 125th anniversary celebrations, it features scads of photos from their archives: some that have never been seen before, and some so obscure even they don't know where they came from. As well as being a journey through different times and places, it's also a bit of an archive of photographic tech over the past century or so – including dreamy Autochrome and grainy black and white. In a word: blissful.
