Floriade is an annual event in Canberra that encourages you to stop and smell the roses. Literally. Over a million of them. In fact, by the time you've taken a morning constitutional around the beautiful gardens, you won't have to stop and smell every flower you see, as you'll be naturally perfumed by them for days to come.

It's their 25th anniversary this year, so they're really amping up the celebrations with loads of events and flora-related goodness. The theme is Style & Design, so be prepared for a visual and tactile feast including gardening workshops, fashion parades, delicious fresh produce, night markets and, of course, enough in-bloom flowers to drive any horticulturist into a frenzy of delight.

It's on from September 15th til October 14th at Commonwealth Park, right at the start of spring when the birds are chirping, the bees are buzzing, and the-birds-and-the-bees' fruits are starting to show their adorable baby heads.
