feminist writers festival
Sydney pals, here’s a chance to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into a number of pressing feminist conversations.
Up until this point, Melbourne has rather selfishly claimed the annual Feminist Writers Festival for itself – not so this time. Running from November 1-3, this year’s festival will bring a stellar line-up of women across journalism, literature, law and policy to Sydney's UTS School of Business.
The Feminist Writers Festival is all about using the power of words to affect social change, but the program isn't just for writers. Anyone who cares about women's rights will be interested to hear diverse panels tackle difficult conversations, whether that's talking about reproductive rights, reclaiming Indigenous storytelling or changing laws around domestic violence.
Budding writers will of course have heaps to chew on — there’s a workshop on developing your feminist voice, another on feminist opinion writing, and a discussion on pitching held by leading editors. See the full program and ticket prices over here.
