eco-friendly bunting

Some thoughtful folks in Glasgow are making pretty buntings from recycled books (including some dubiously titled Ladybird classics).

What are you going to do with Mick The Disobedient Puppy? Of course, Mick’s not a real puppy (except in your imagination!) – he’s a character from a Ladybird book, and he’s found a new life in the form of a bunting, as have a swag of other characters from the much loved (if dubiously titled) children’s classics.

The creators of these pretty home decorations are Peony and Thistle, a Glasgow-based team, who specialise in recycling rescued vintage books. To nab a bunting for your own wall, head to their online store – or maybe take a leaf out of their book and see what gems you can dig up at your local op shop? You just might like do a little paper upcycling of your own.
