Buying pottery is pretty fancy business these days. Why would you pick up a plain old mug or planter when you could have an artfully paint-splattered dish, an abstract work of bowl-shaped art, or in the case of Clay Opera's goodies, a pinch pot that resembles a sleepy-eyed cottontail? In fact, the Polish potter sells a whole menagerie of animal-themed ceramics handmade in Warsaw, from a polar bear spoon rest to a smiling sperm whale bowl and a very dapper vessel named Stephen the Mouse which comes complete with four sturdy legs.
