choc-chip cookies with orange zest, bourbon and brown butter
Get some bourbon in ya bikkie.
We’ve got nothing against choc-chip cookies. In fact, they’re one of our go-to biscuits. What’s not to love about that chewy texture and those smooth, sweet morsels of chocolate? So, now that we’ve established that we are not averse to the snack, we can put forward this harsh truth: choc-chip cookies are kind of boring. They're just… predictable.
You know what’s neither boring nor predictable? Bourbon, brown butter and orange choc-chip cookies. If you invited your mates over for a casual afternoon tea, nobody – NOBODY – would expect you to whip out a plate of bourbon, brown butter and orange choc-chip cookies. (You can almost hear the “oohs” and “aahs” in response to such rogue behaviour, can’t you?) Since we like to live life on the edge, we decided to have a crack at baking the delectable treats, which were devised by The Yellow Butterfly. If you too enjoy living dangerously, find the recipe here.
To accompany you while you embark on your next culinary quest, we’ve cooked up some lovely kitchen merch, including three colourful tea towels and a flower-power apron. Find the lot over at the frankie shop.
