cherry focaccia

It's cherry season. Yahoo!

Not to get all philosophical on you, but sweet versus savoury is such a false dichotomy. There’s a whole world of finger-licking goodness in the grey area. Think chocolate-covered pretzels, salted caramel, sweet soy sauce, barbecue pork buns, fried chicken and waffles… sorry, where were we? Oh yes, this recipe for cherry focaccia. Adrianna’s sweet-and-salty delight set our gobs-a-watering when we spotted it over at her blog, A Cozy Kitchen.

Inspired by an Italian dish called schiacciata con l’uva (meaning sweet grape bread), Adrianna topped her homemade focaccia with cherries, rosemary, sea salt and olive oil. She uses a special thingamajig for pitting fresh cherries, though you could always use a chopstick. Serve this crunchy, chewy, delectable dish as an appetiser, dessert or a snack, and prepare to please your sweet and salty taste buds.

To accompany you while you embark on your next culinary quest, we’ve cooked up some lovely kitchen merch, including three colourful tea towels and a flower-power apron. The designs are pulled straight from the pages of the frankie 2022 diary, which is full of vintage kitchen-inspired artwork by Pilgrim Hodgson. Find the lot over at the frankie shop.
