Fashion + art + postcards = GPO's Chain Mail exhibition.

Fashion + art + postcards = GPO's Chain Mail exhibition.

Even though the GPO has now been converted into one of Melbourne's fashion hubs, true to its original function as a the city's general post office, they have sent out postcards to 50 local artists, getting them to make their mark and then pass them onto another artist. Eventually, the postcards have come back to their spiritual home at the GPO, and will be on display for three weeks, starting today. Each of the cards will be on sale for $200, with the proceeds going to Fitted For Work, a charity that provides disadvantaged women with appropriate job interview attire.

The two that you can see here are examples of Beci Orpin and James Gulliver Hancock's postcards, with bucket loads of other Melbourne artists on display. It'll be open during normal trading hours until Saturday 24th June. More details here.
