What’s a pile of discarded banana peels doing in an art gallery, you ask? Well, these aren’t just the remains of several banana cakes. They’re cold hard ceramics that have been meticulously shaped into chuckle-inducing forms by 55-year-old artist Koji Kasatani. Koji wants viewers to see garbage in a new light, and looking at his cuddling, dancing ‘Girlfriend Bananas’, we’d say: mission accomplished.
