cats on brutalist buildings
Learn about architecture while admiring some fluffy moggies – it's a win-win.
On its own, brutalism is a style of architecture that engages the eye immediately: harsh edges, geometric angles, lots of blocks. But what happens if we chuck in some fluffy cats? Yes, you read that correctly. Cats of Brutalism is a project created by three architecture students from the University of Buffalo that adds supersized images of kitties onto monochrome photos of concrete buildings. The juxtaposition is “intentionally absurd”, and allows a celebration of both brutalism and the internet’s favourite animal simultaneously. We think it’s total genius. Read more about the project here, and definitely give their Insta a follow.
