Have you ever seen a finch with a fringe? Or a raven with a rat's tail? Or even a gnarly mynah bird with a mohawk?

Have you ever seen a finch with a fringe? Or a raven with a rat's tail? Or even a gnarly mynah bird with a mohawk? We love the idea of our feathered friends swapping a head's worth of plumage for some flowing tresses, and it seems that illustrator Kieth Yap feels the same.

He's dreamt up a series called Birds with Buzzcuts – supposedly self-portraits of the wing-sporting type. Described as expressions of Kieth's Filipino-Australian identity, the drawings will be showing at Chippendale's Chasm gallery from June 12th, as part of the group show, Morphosis.
