If old school signwriting makes you swoon, you might like to head along to one of Better Letters’ hands-on workshops. The font-loving folk tour the world with their signwriting school, not only teaching how to paint a range of classy fonts, but also ways to embellish your work with shadows, bevels and other snazzy effects.

The workshops will be winding their way to our neck of the woods later this year, popping up in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Christchurch. And you don’t have to be a deft hand with a marker, either – the classes are suitable for beginners, so you can join in whether you’ve got a pen licence or not.
